Worn Words is inspired by a collection of poetry by Sophie Norton

Worn Words is about different ways of expressing my written words, and making poetry fit forms that people can engage with on a different level to just reading words on a page.

We are facing a fast-fashion crisis from the likes of big international distributors who not only underpay their workers, but scour the web to imitate designs from independent designers, to then reproduce in poor quality, pile high and sell in bulk for a fraction of the price. This fast-paced consumerism is reaching a critical mass, and I’d like to think that I’m contributing less to this throwaway culture by spending time crafting handmade, individual items.

I want people to buy more pre-owned goods, and support independent creators. The subject matter of poetry I use in printing can be provocative, and I want people to stop and read the words as well as appreciate the designs, and hopefully think differently.
